Send them a letter (certified so you know it was received) stating:
I had completed a damage form in June, 2007 regarding damage done to my Italian leather couch. Since I have not received any follow up or compensation regarding this issue, I will be forced to seek legal counsel. Please respond prior to ________ , 2007. (put in a 10 day or 2 wk response.)

If don't hear from them, call a lawyer.

Start calling the shops in your area for leather repair technicians.... upholstery shops, furniture repair, or even furnitur stores (which may have repair technicians) and get estimates from as many as you can. It' nothing unusual to see rates of $150/hr for this type of work.

Once you have your estimates, you'll be more prepared to deal with the movers. Definitely get those estimates before accepting a settlement from them.

Good Luck
