A rubber thimble like the type they use in banks is also known as a "thimblette"

You can buy them from good stationers such as WH Smith or Staples.

There are several packs of thimblettes for sale on ebay ( www.ebay.co.uk ). They seem to range in price on ebay from 99p for 10, to £1.99 for 12 plus postage of about £1.25

If you type in "thimblettes" in ebays search, you will be sure to find a choice. Strangely if you type in "thimblette" on ebay it doesn't find any.

viking direct ( www.viking-direct.co.uk ) also sell them in packs of 5, with next day delivery, but they will charge abouit £4 postage.

Thimblettes come in different sizes, generally the lower the number the smaller the thimblette, but I think that different manufacturers have different size codes.
