Yes, I write my Congressman on issues before them because It is my duty to let them know my opinion. The biggest mistakes most people make is not expressing their views on issues face our country.

We need an active citizens to make government to work. The grass roots do make the difference. A good example is the Shamesty bill for the illegal aliens. We stop it in its track.

I'm a member of a national group called "National Write Your Congressman's Mission". They gave me the address, email address and phone number of EVERY Congressman, Representative, Governor, etc. all the way up through the President and his First Lady. I don't "air my gripes" sense I haven't had any but I do answer a lot of them. If (and that's a huge IF) I have any questions or gripes, I address those who actually know the answer not some idiot troll on this board and we do ha a lot of trolls on this board.

After reading your answers, I have to say some of the troll liars are on this question. They are the ones that say they write but don't get any answers. EVERY single time I've written, I've received and answer.

Yes.
I am a Conservative.
I am stuck with Barack Obama and Dick Durbin for Senators.
My House Rep. is Dennis Hastert.
Dennis Hastert usually answers my letters (through an aid), but my Senators never have and ALWAYS send a form letter stating they have already made up their minds they will continue pursuing their march toward a more powerful and higher cost central government, for our own good.
It is their same pat answer no matter what the question or statement is. - More POWER and HIGHER TAXES!
i.e. If the question is about national security and securing our borders, the answer is something like.... "I will continue to encourage all to enter the U.S. freely and guarantee all will be given the full rights of any American citizen and all the benefits they need to prosper regardless of the costs."
Hastert will say something like" I am examining the situation. Security is very important. I will decide what actions to take after studying the laws as they apply to immigration..."
Then he goes off and does what his biggest campaign contributors want.
I'm not happy with any of them!

YES !!! Kay Bailey Hutchison, Texas (R), Senitor is aware that I am NOT afraid to voice my opinion, on some subjects.
And yes, sad to say, 'Nephew George', realises that WE (He & Uncle Wil) do NOT agree, A LOT OF THE TIME!!!
For an American not to tell the "POLLUTITIONS" how we feel, only allows the thieves to continue plundering OUR -OUR tax money !!!

I sent Kucinich a couple of e-mails but regretted it because he sends about 50 emails a day. Geez Dennis I don't need to know what you had for lunch today.

Sure. I've met with my congressperson as well as my senator to express my opinion (one of the plusses of living near DC). I've also met with people in my state government (again, a plus of living where I do).
