Yes the cost of living is so high in San Fransisco, but it is such a great place. I would go back to the bay area in a heartbeat if there was ANY way I could do it! There is just no other place like it. I think you are probably homesick or , at least, I would be. I would make a plan, though, if you are going to go back. Save up some money and see if you can live with a friend for a while until you get settled in again.

I was thinking of moving to california for a while simply because with a degree in computer science there are so many jobs out there then in Indiana. But yeah cost of living is horrible! I dated a girl from Orange County in california and she told me the cheapest apts go for $900 a month! Wow!!

A really great city now with a lot of jobs, but low cost of living is Indianapolis in Indiana. I have two cousins who live down there. Great jobs, affordable apts, standard of living is low, and it is not too congested like chicago.

So I would say don't move back to SF, but find someplace better than where you currently are living.

ive had a few times in the last 5 years or so that i could ask that question to myself about jobs, cities, girls, friends... something about it always seemed to be too much though. i felt like if i went back it would just result in that cliche "1 step forward, 2 steps back" sorta thing. as i put distance between those times and today, im always glad i never went back.
maybe u just need to move on from something in AZ, or from AZ itself, and on to something new.

Try Las Vegas before you go back. There are nothing but jobs here. Heck, waitresses make 60k a year, people who park cars even more. All kinds of success stories in Las Vegas and it is a town that is made for young people.

I don't think you can simplify this to a question here. Family, friends, where are they? Which city do you like the most? I don't know in what area you work, but which is the best? Research, analyze it with a cool head. If you realize you made a mistake, why not?

No, I wouldn't go back, remember that nothing in life is easy and the person you will be depends on how you handle hard times, adversity whatever you want to call it. It is not easy to pick up and move to a new place but if you were strong enough to make that choice you will be strong enough to stand by it.

I'd go back. Maybe, you just fit in better in SF. Where do you really want to be? Ask yourself if you'd rather be in SF where you have to cut back on expenses or in AZ where you are miserable.

I probably would go back temporarily and save again to move somewhere else and keep doing that until I found my spot.

That's what worked for me and now I'm happy where I'm at.
