Will the U.S. trigger a revolution in Iran? No.
Does the U.S. want to trigger a revolution in Iran? Yes
For at least the past 14 years, if not longer, the unofficial policy of the U.S. is that they want to see a regime change in Iran -- namely the end of the controlling role of the religious leadership in Iran so that all candidates could compete in open and fair democratic elections. (Currently, the religious leadership can remove candidates from the ballot for not sufficiently supporting "Islamic" values which basically leaves the choice between the fanatically religious -- the current Administration -- and the moderately religious.) Unfortunately, the U.S. has proved clueless as to how to support the opponents of the regime without making them look like U.S. puppets and without it looking like the U.S. is the enemy of Iran rather than the enemy of the Iranian leadership. i do not see any changes in the ability of the U.S. to engage in the type of subtle diplomacy and covert activity necessary to trigger a revolution in Iran in the near future.

Their current leader was democratically elected so I would not call it revolution but more like a forced change of leadership.

For the "moderate" people of Iran, they better hope so. Either that or their leader better stop threatening everybody and their dog.
