I have a 2005 Dodge Stratus 2.7 SXT 4 door. Over the past 2 months I have had an issue with the carpet under the passenger seat wet. It was sopping wet. I cleaned it up with a wet dry vac and got it all dry and two days later it was soaked again. I put a Absorber under the seat for 2 days and got it up. But it is still damp. Wet to touch the carpet and the metal under it. It is not soaked just damp now. I have the seat out of the car trying to see I something was draining but I have no idea what could be doing this. Any ideas what it is and how to fix it? I have a moldy smelling car and need to get it completely dry. Thanks in advance...

if the car has a sunroof it could have clogged drains letting water back up and overflow. next i would check the door and window seals on that side of the car. look for seals that are deformed ore folded over. also check to see if the air conditioning drain is clogged. this will cause water on the pass side. next check if the wetness smells of coolant. you may have a leaking heater core. in rare cases a body plug may have come out letting water in.

hope these suggestions help!

1st - heater core - check your coolant level

2nd - ac evaporator

3rd - run through a auto car wash and look for leaks

clean out the drain for the a/c system, it is on the firewall behind the engine
