Do you really believe the U.S. invades countries halfway around the world, has troops in dozens of countries, interferes with governements all over the world....simply to protect the lives of the American people?

I bet most people understand that the USA's foreign interests expand beyond preservation of American lives.
We have to protect lots of other people too.

people dont take the time to read or do research anymore ......plus the government has alot of secrets..... here in Honduras for example a new marine amphibious base is being built near the boarder of Nicaragua..... just in case we have to give those people democracy AGAIN what were they thinking after the US drove Ortega out (Ollie north... Iran Contra) they voted him back in....... I think people need to keep better track of their tax dollars

Hey Freak, the US has liberated over a billion people in many different wars. Just ask any Frenchman what language they would be speaking if not for the Americans, or ask the Italians, or Kuwait, or South Korea. Maybe you should spend some time in a communist country so you could see the difference between occupation and liberation. Yeah go to North Korea and see what happens when you try to use the Internet or say something that Kim Jong does not like, you will be begging for the Americans to help you.

I thought you liberals are about compassion and understanding and willing to help others? But that only applys to other liberals, right?

"you are either with us, or against us" is a silly belief created by the self-righteousness of right-wingers, and the arrogance of their political "messiahs", so if it don't personal affect their individuals rights an them personally, than it is something to be ignored.
