It seems the ultra conservatives attack me for being liberal. The ultra liberal attack me for being a conservative.

What gives? Are these just fools who attack whoever disagrees with them with those labels?

Is language meaningless to them?

We just presume if you give a pro liberal statement you're a liberal. if you give a pro-conservative statement, you're a con. It's easier for us that way. You don't really expect us to do research with any information you provided in asking, or answering other questions, or to check your profile or 360 before flying off the handle do you ?
In your case, I know who you are. You're pretty middle of the road. But I've been guilty of being a fool like you mentioned before with people I hardly know. To be honest, I doubt I will change. At least I have enough self respect to admit that I'm a fool. That's worth something...I guess.

The term "liberal" is very often used to mean "anything we don't like" by conservatives -- and very rarely is actually used according to its dictionary definition.

The term "conservative" is less often used contrary to its dictionary meaning -- but for an ultra-liberal who rejects all restriction and conformity -- any attempt (even a moderate one) would reasonably be seen as being conservative on a relative scale.

Nope. But notice how four of the five top POTUSs on your list were Republicans. Kinda weird even I must admit.
