I want to buy the colored pencils on this page:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Prismacolor-Premier-colored-Pencil-set-132-pencils_W0QQitemZ170159371504QQihZ007QQcategoryZ28108QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

and the price is almost too good to be true which makes me wonder if they could be fake or not.

Probably

...but doesn't that seem like an awful lot of effort to go to simply to sell two pencil sets? That does look like an older graphic on the front...

I've never heard of fake Prismacolor pencils. The "older looking" graphic on the front mentioned by another answerer is legit: I've seen these pictured elsewhere, and that's what they look like.

Also, if you google "fake Prismacolor" or "counterfeit Prismacolor", no hits come up at all. So it seems there's no talk of such a problem.

They do seem like a bargain... I've bought Prismacolor pencils from eBay sellers myself, and have had no problem with them.

This seller does say they're "factory sealed". Just to make sure, why don't you write them and ask if they can guarantee they're genuine (ask nicely!). If so, snatch them up! Good luck.

On one level, it is an oxymoron. On another it is love that twisted. Now if there NEVER was any, and always was a lie, then it is the first one. But love can start off and go wrong, become fake or faked. Long married couples can find themselves in a bad position of no longer loving the person but feeling they MUST or they SHOULD do this, and they will then fake this. After all, it is very scary to discuss it, what will happen? What would the other person THINK or SAY? We often don't HEAR when the topic is emotional, we can hear our own 'tape' on it, our own weakness can come to the forefront.

The possibility that they might be counterfiet exists, but hardly seems worth the effort for products like this.

It MAY be that the seller has a stock of someone's overstock, or a wholesaler who's gone out of business. It is possibe that the seller bought the sets for pennies on the dollar and can still make a profit by selling them pencils cheap.

Please, also note the $14 shipping costs. It doesn't HAVE to cost that much, so the seller may be making a bit on that end, as well.

You have to decide if an $89 investment is worth the price.

Why don't you go to an art store (A.C. Moore, Michaels or Jo-Ann's) and check out the prices there?
