What could my topic be for my persuasive essay that somehow talks about either skinny models or how the clothes on some dolls (like barbie, brats, ect.) are affecting younger girls?

I think they are bad, but why would someone think they are good?

While this is an excellent topic, I'm not sure it would work that well for a persuasive paper. There's really no positives about anorexia and skewed body image in the fashion industry. You could however, use this in a comparison/contrast with the growing issue of obesity in America.

as for models, the skinny look is old school. very unhealthy. As for barbie clothes and brat clothes, it's all make believe. Barbie has clothes just like older girls wear everyday. There good. Such as skiing, camping, sleep overs, cooking in the kitchen, going to a dance. I really like the clothes they wear.

Ok, list all the reasons you think this is bad.
Now, with all those reasons, why do you think skinny models are still popular, why are disproportionately skinny Barbies still popular, and why do young girls still strive to be like the models and the Barbies?

Look at your reasons against those things, look at the fact that those things still have a major hold on many girls, and put your deductive reasoning to work. Obviously there are folks who think those things are good... Why do you think that is?
