We all know that here in America we have pre-conceptions about others. It is also true as said in the video that these underlying generalizations, stereotypes and just the general concept of fearing and hating the unknown are taught to us by our parents or whom ever raises us. Discrimination leads to many political conflicts, war and violence. I have always believed in tolerating of all people and not judging them based on race, religion, sexual orientation or different beliefs. After watching this video it saddened me that people can bring their children up to hate others. What do you think about this issue?

I am a democrat and if I had a child I would teach them to respect and tolerate all people.

That was a great video. Thanks for the tip. I sent it to some of my friends who have young kids. Yes, I definately agree that misconceptions create most of the chaos in the world.
Thanks Again!!

Thats the problem don't you see .
You can only follow along the same path as everyone else .
If you do anything accept that you must conform .
If you fail to conform and try to live outside the boundaries then the state will imprison you .
You can drink but only a couple . You can still smoke but only in your own home and car .
If your hotel is out of smoking rooms you must break the law .
Forget the hundreds of people who break the law all the time and think nothing of it . They speed , drop trash on the ground never recycle and I suppose have no purpose except what pleasures them and thats my fear .

They get off on controlling others . Yes they love to tell others how to live . Should a woman have an abortion I say no but in this world why stop someone from doing as they please . As a capitalist I always want labor and that child would some day have made me some money but I am not greedy so if a mother wishes to kill a child it is of no consequence to me really unless it becomes a trend and labor runs short .

Even so I will just import my labor from bordering nations .

Is the real enemy capitalism . Is it religion . Or is it the notion that someone else can tell you what to do . .

Freedom ended the day you could not lay down and go to sleep when you got tired .

No sleeping on the beach anymore unless you bought a million dollar piece of it .
No sleeping in a park unless you rented a camp site and paid a fee.
No sleeping on a park bench or subway seat without the police state trying to force you to conform and get to work for somebody someplace making them richer .

They speak of opportunity and the only thing that gives you that is if you happen to be born with ability and have access to money .

I go to a down scale bar - cheap beer and cheaper people

When I first came to the big city it was all I could afford and the patrons dressed the same way as the farmers do so I felt comfortable in my naivity

There is a tranny (transvestite) who comes in there from time to time - In that bar "she" isn't all that liked but she is tolerated - better than most places I think -

One day I was talking to her and 2 guys came up to warn me about her not being a her

All I said was I know and I don't care -I am a married man - I am not trying to pick her up - All she wants is for me to call her a "her" and talk to her as if she were a normal person

How does this harm me in any way ?

I do not have to like what she does I do not even have to agree with it or understand it (Which frankly I don't)

All I have to do is treat her fairly and with common civility

One guy went away disgusted with me and the other seemed impressed -

All I am saying is lets save war and hate and killing and so on for a genuine threat of harm not just because I do not like what you are or what you do -

I 've stopped going to that bar because I can afford somthing better than the gut rot they sell but it is an odd thing to see that the lowest sections of our society are far more open and honest and tolerant than those in the middle or the top

Another "stero-type" that was a little misleading

Hatred is taught -- tolerance is natural, until children grow up and start watching all the hatred and bigotry around them.

Sadly, I think the human race has not yet reached a point where it can be tolerant of differences -- we're still to trapped in the fight-or-flight fear reaction that makes us want to lash out at anyone who is different.

Dems seem to teacher people to hate people who don't agree with them.
