You only need 1 pair. You MUST leave the others off, wrap them back from the connected pair.

First off the category 5 or 6 cable used for internet service runs from Stand alone Modems and Routers they both have Ethernet connections. The connections are different.
the PHone box outside is for PHONE CONNECTIONS ONLY. The change inside comes with the addition of the Internet Service Providers Modem, from any of the phone jacks in the house. Only if you have added the filters to all those not in use.
The high speed Internet connection only uses 1 of the pair of wires so it really doesn't matter what the colors are and how they are arranged, It does but many tech's change these around when a user has expierianced a problem on there line.
Like I said if you have DSL already and a Modem in the house, Stay out of the box or it may end up costing you more than you want to spend.
If you have DSL and you need additional connections you need a ROUTER.
One last thing if you think you are going to get the connection from your box and transfer it inside I am curious how you plan to make this connection at the Server if it isn't already to activate the service.
