Clean you cache. It may be too full and slowing everything down. To do this, click on Tools from the IE toolbar and select Internet Options.
When the Internet Options window opens, go to the "Temporary Internet Files" section and click on Delete Cookies and Delete Files. This may take a few minutes so wait until the hourglass disappears.
Then go to the History section and click on "Clear History." As mentioned above, if this doesn't speed things up, you may need to add more RAM.

You can try many tricks which could improve performance however it is my experience that after Windows would have been installed for 6 months and used daily it starts to slow down. At some point it pays you to re-install the whole PC. In my experience this is true for all versions up to XP, not sure about Vista.

PC performs as a whole, not just one component
A fast CPU with small RAM size is gonna get bottleneck. A large RAM size with slow CPU is pointless as in order to run application to utilize the RAM space, your CPU has to be able to handle the application at a reasonable speed.
A fast CPU with a fast graphic card works best for 3d games, but if your CPU is slow, a good graphic card will still perform badly.
Your upgrade options depends on your existing hardware...

get rid of any programs running in the back ground of the computer that you aren't using. by going to your control panel and seeing what is all in your computer. if you have had your comp for a whole minute you'll see many old programs that you don't use anymore. get rid of those, then defrag your computer. what that means is the computer stores your programs in several different places. like you have a word program, it will chop it up in to different little peices and stick them in your computer to make room for the program, everytime you open it up. if you defrag your computer it will pull the peices back to gether makeing more speed in the computer and taking less time pulling up a program. then run a virus scan (i recomend avast) and a spyware scan (i recoment spybot search and destroy) both are free programs you can download off line. hope that helps. take care.

* You need to reinstall your windows, that means you have to have everything deleted on your computer cuz you prolly have whole bunch of crap you dont need on there which slows down your PC.*
that is the only way.
and once you do that, you need to take care of ur PC by doing weekly cleanings and running anti-virus programs that delete things you dont need.
you can get this done at a local computer repair place.

Registry Cleaner.
I got mine at pctools.com (You can get a free scan to see how many problem files are in your registry)
I just down-loaded one to my father-in-law's computer a while back. His was over a year old and had never been cleaned. (!) The registry cleaner found more than 800 problems.
It works! :D

let it upgrade, and if you're computer are almost over loaded with applications, downloads (especially games) and save files it would really run so slow. Your computer's virtual memory were getting slowly.
