If we don't know all the prepostions, then we don't know how to separate words, then we don't know the origins the meanning the etymology of the word . Then we loose the language.

I did not the meaning of the preposition, The meaning of the word. The words eventually loose meaning like this and are when no association can be made we loose it. Anyhow, the prepositions should be taught, all of them, and not say at first grade, they r only four and then higher graade of shcool when more words cannot be explained they add some more etc. This is what 's happening today. I saw it with my son's schooling. A language crime. As the history one? But I do not want to open up another subject here now..

14 in modern Greek and 27 in ancient Greek.

The 14 in modern Greek are: με, σε, για, ως, προς, κατά, μετά, παρά, αντί, από, χωρίς, δίχως, μέχρι, ίσαμε.

Oh, and don't worry! Our language won't die simply because we don't know the meaning of the prepositions as prefixes in words. Few people actually know what they mean. And, by the way, there are lots of words we use in which ancient Greek prepositions are used as prefixes.
EDIT:
I understand your concern, but still I think there are other more important grammatical points, more important than that, that should be taught and learned. What I actually meant was that not knowing what a preposition means, doesn't entail that you don't know the meaning of a word. Same thing happens when we learn english-we don't learn what the prefixes mean or how they may change the meaning of a word.
