When I have kids I want to breast feed atleast until they can drink cow milk. I also want to use cloth diapers cuz it's better for the enviroment. How much money can I save by breast feeding and using cloth diapers verisis formula and disposible diapers?

My sister and I have actually discussed this. She formula feeds and uses half disposables and half cloth. She spends about $20 a month on diapers and about $100 in formula a month. I cloth diaper and breastfeed.
With breastfeeding and cloth diapering, you have a lot of initial cost and very little after that. For my 8.5 month old son, I got a pump ($300) a few bottles ($16) and about $300 worth of diapers. So, about $600. Seems like a lot. BUT, $40 a month for full time disposable diapers for 3 years is 1440 a
nd $100 a month for a year is 1200. So you save A TON in the long run. The only problem is that it's easier for people living pay check to pay check to come up with 140 a month that $600 all at once.
Then again, I guess if you saved throughout your whole pregnancy, it should still be easy.
OH! And if you have more than one child, you already have the pump and cloth diapers if you took care of them. So, no expenses when it comes to those things.
And if you let your baby comfort nurse, you'll save a lot because you won't need pacifiers either. My son comfort nurses and uses a pacifier and I wish he didn't like pacifiers because it's crazy how fast those things get lost!

You will save A LOT, especially if you ever have more kids. You can cloth diaper from birth to potty training for around $200 start-up costs. We have a high efficiancy washer and dryer, so we paid about $5.00 a MONTH in water and electricity. Even when I lived in an apartment, I still only paid about $5.00 a week to wash and dry diapers, so you're still saving money!
Even if you don't have more kids, clean used diapers sell like hotcakes in consignment stores, on diaperswappers.com and Craigslist!
I breastfed and spent $50.00 on an Avent Isis pump that I used for like 5 weeks;-) Other than that, breastfeeding is FREE!!!

TONS!!!! LOL I have 2 kiddos, both in diapers. I formula fed my first son, and am nursing my second....I also used diposables with my first and cloth(on both) after having #2.
When my oldest was at his peak of formula drinking, we were spending around $20 a week on formula, plus what we had to pay for bottles. Then add in about $10 for diapers.....that's over $100 a MONTH!
I knew I would BF with my second, and decided to switch to cloth after 6 weeks. Before we made the switch though we were spending almost $100 a month in diapers alone!
I spent around $200 on my cloth stash, and it has paid for itself a couple times over now.

You save tons and tons of time and money with breastfeeding also, it's the best food for baby. I breastfeed and i love it. I don't do cloth diapers, but it takes more time to wash them and all that as opposed to quick disposables. But I admire you for wanting to look out for the Earth. The time you save not making bottles and mixing formula, you can spend on cloth diapers. It's not a whole lot of work and omigosh the money you will save!!!!! Good Luck!

A lot. Atleast 20 a week, if not more, especially as they grow.
I spend 17 bucks on diapers every two weeks. And nothing on formula since we nurse.
Kudos to you.
I would invest in a diaper cleaning company though, you'd be able to more than afford it on all that youre saving, and its just easier to get sterilized perfectly clean diapers delivered to your door each week, than it is to hand wash and boil them all yourself.
