You can't take any state seriously that elects a murderer to the senate.
Funny how being liberal always seems to mean loosing freedom in the end.

Two reasons -- first, because they don't believe in govt-sponsored hatred and bigotry -- not even when it's in the guise of mob-majority rule.
Second -- because they are FOLLOWING THE LAW -- the Mass state constitution requires a 25% vote in the legislature in favor of a statewide ballot twice before the ballot -- the state legislature couldn't even get 25% of the legislators in favor of allowing the vote.
So, if less than 25% of legislators approve the measure -- why do you think we should ignore the state constitution and allow the mob-majority to vote on it? Not to mention the fact that none of the petitions have had enough signatures to qualify for a state ballot vote -- so, allowing it would again be against the law.
You have a voice -- elect different legislators. But using that voice for the sole purpose of enacting hatred and bigotry into law -- and violating the existing laws in doing so -- how can you possibly be proud of that?

Massachusetts hate groups have been trying to get this on the ballot for a while. They just can't garner enough "legitimate" signatures on their petitions to have it placed on the ballot. Sounds like the People of Massachusetts have "voted" on this issue to me.
If a few are trying to force there views on the many it is the few hate mongers trying to force this down the throats of the voters of Massachusetts.

Liberals are pushing their values on you? Stop right there.YOU are pushing your values on gays! I did not vote for President Bush and he has made decisions that I do not like but by vetoing things and making decisions but that is the way things work. Politicians in Massachusetts have not broken any rules of the constitution.

do no longer forget Latinos, they voted overwhelmingly in California to prohibit gay marriage. however the left blamed the Mormon church for that loss, as though mormons carry quite a number of clout in california politics

Yep, that is the way the libs in Mass circumvented the voters.
Anyone recall the direction the majority of Americans took on the voter initiatives last election? I do, and gay marriage was decided against in an overwhelming fashion.

Have you ever read the Constitution? Do you understand how government is supposed to work? No...didn't think so. Most intelligent people try to think first and whine later.

It's called representive democracy, and it's in the Constitution, you might want to actually read it before you try and tell people that they don't believe in it.
