that's a good idea but some people will always find a way to cheat the system. if something like that was to be invented it would have to be people smart, so no one would be able to try to rig up anything.

Hi Robin,
Well i think the guys at the car wash are going to be pretty upset, and if you're driving and the car shuts off in the middle of the freeway wouldn't that cause an accident. Some people are just idiots and will not put it on even if there is a three minute warning and they are on the freeway, then that jeopardizes the life of the other innocent drivers around them.
Take Care!

I might be answering from a wheelchair or not answering at all had I not been wearing a belt the night I rolled my Buick whilst dodging a deer.
The idea is the great. One MIGHT improve upon that by having some sort of weight detector built into the other seats so as to ensure that any passengers are likewise buckled in.
No passengers in MY car go ANYWHERE without that same security as I afford myself.
A star for you!!!

That sounds very inconvenient, plus I don't even like it when My car goes off with warning sounds that my door is open (when I'm inside my car relaxing with the radio on and the door open). Plus I always wear my seatbelt... plus some cars already have annoying beeping alarm to remind you that your setabelt is off, which is more than enough.

One more unnecessary sensor that is bound to fail at the worst possible time, no thanks; I prefer to keep things simple. Driving without your seatbelt is making a choice to accept a greater risk of injury, & I believe people have the right to make stupid decisions for themselves if they so choose.

I think that's a pretty good idea
but they won't do it because the technology will cost money and probably won't actively attract people into buying the car, so it's seen as 'wasted' money by the car companies.

Will it have airbags? If it does its great. It will prevent the passengers from being thrown forward when the car stops suddenly after three minutes.

people will always find a way to disable it!! might have to be something with the weight in the seat that will help it work better.
