So basically, if u want to know my story about this subject, keep reading..just recently realized i was not straight.. i kept denying myself this fact for years,hehe..fortunately now it all makes sense with the warnings, things i've heard, signs that Gods been trying to make me see(thinking of things i did, ways i felt when i was a child, i was unconciously moving towards non-straightness) so u could pls be kind enough to just answer my question n don't try to convince me that this non-straightness thing is ok or its fine to be the way i've been before because it's been obvious why some people avoid me and seem uncomfortable around me and how it's worth getting my real life back cause life really could be funner,seriously..it shows in my classmates' straight lives n they laugh more, believe me when i say thanks so much to people who want to help me and make such a change for me with their answers, whether short or long, a small drop of water stirs an ocean ( can make a big difference

thanks to Dreamer who answered my question in

she told everyone about
http://www.gaytostraight.org

so there really is no real proof that ppl are born homosexuals (but with hermaphrodites then it's a diffrerent story)

Being gay is some thing u were born with its not some thing u can just switch off. When u find some one to share ur life with u will smile and laugh just like ur straight friends. U have to learn to accept urself or u will never truly be happy. U can try to live a lie, marry a man, have children with him if u chose. But will u really be happy in ur heart? Be true to urself..we cant change who we are..we have to accept and live our lives to the best we can. God wouldn't give us any thing we cant handle..u can handle this. Talk to a counselor at school..in time u will be ok. Hugs Lou :)

There have been very few "conversions" from gay to straight. It takes intensive counseling and constant effort and even then it is a daily struggle with little hapiness.

You should do some research into reputable organizations that work with this and seriously consider all options.

Note: I'm not advocating that you try to switch your orientation, just letting you know that the likelyhood of you being successful is small and it will be a tremendous amount of work. Several other answers advised being happy with who you are, this is good advice.

dude, you obviously are looking for an answer that does not exist. YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE. End of discussion.

I dont mean to be so blunt about it, but, it's clear you think there should be some answer out there that will help you change your sexuality from being GAY (yes, GAY...you can say it...you wont turn into a toad.), to being straight.

You cannot change your sexuality. However, you can change your attitude and learn to love yourself and accept yourself for who you are. That, my friend, is the only answer.

I wish you lluck.

If you are gay, you are gay. If you want a life of unhappy denial then just keep telling yourself you are straight.

If you want a life of mental torment, then there are plenty of "Christians" who can brainwash you into almost believing you are not gay.

A far better option is to seek non-religious counselling from a professional, who can help you work through all your conflicting emotions..

EDIT:
"when i was a child, i CHOSE to be gay, so don't u think i can CHOOSE not to be gay?"

Well, child, if you think that it is simply a choice, then what are you getting so stressed about? Just choose to be straight.

Good luck with that.

I think the people who claim they converted from gay to "straight" were probably bisexual to begin with. Some of them just went back in the closet. One of the most famous was John Paulk who was photographed exiting a gay bar in D.C. after he was "cured".

You sure ask deep questions, kiddo. The short answer is, if you're gay, that's what you are. You can't be something else no matter what you do. You can act it, but you can't BE it. The conflict you've felt isn't because you're gay, it's because you've been trying to be someone you're not.

unfortunately for you, you can not just change your sexuality if your gay your gay period. although you could try tearing out your libido.
i suggest you come to terms with it, and live as a happy person.
