Contact paypal and ask for their advice. Don't be bullied by this man he may be trying to get away with paying. If he persists report him to ebay and make a 'second chance' offer.

One can pay through PayPal by just using a bank account, but if one doesn't have a credit card on file with PayPal as a back up source of funding, then the payment is an echeque. It sounds as if this is the situation with your buyer. It's not a mistake by anyone. You have three choices: wait till the echeque clears to ship the item, send the item immediately, or offer to refund the money. The choice you make depends on what you want the most -- the money or not to risk negative feedback. If you're a professional seller on ebay, then my advice would be to ship the item immediately so that you don't create a negative image of customer service. If you only occasionally sell stuff on ebay, then I wouldn't worry about the feedback.

If paypal did make a mistake it would be one of the very rare ones they make. Did you make clear to the buyer what an echeque is according to payapl and why they say they are not going to clear the funds for 10 days? You cant stop him from putting negative feedback on your acccount but the good thing is that you can do the same thing to him for not being a good community member. Also you always have the dispute console if it gets to that point. paypal wont settle the dispute though - it is between you and your buyer and they wont get involved. You need re read your paypal guidelines and your ebay guidelines so that you are very clear as to where you stand and what you can or cannot expect for either of these two businesses. You also need to be clear about what your recourse is if this person leaves negative feedback and/or wants a refund. GOOD LUCK - this is the exact reason i dont sell on ebay.

Have you emailed paypal to ask as well if it was in fact a echeck? If a seller does not have a credit card on their paypal it automatically does the echeck to pay and that takes quite a few days to clear and go into your account. Unless a person adds funds to their paypal to use beforehand. I think the buyer is confused, is he a newbie to ebay and paypal? You can check his feedback on ebay to see how long he has been a member. Has the buyer contacted paypal or is just being a idiot and thinking he payed instantly? Ask him if he uses a credit card or adds funds to his paypal, if he says no then it automatically went echeck and there is nothing that can be done to speed that up and no I wouldn't send out anything till payment had cleared and was in your paypal acct. If he wants a refund after all of this your going to have to give him one and if he leaves negative feedback just leave the follow up underneath explaining it was due to the buyers paypal payment and buyer was mad....but I would email paypal yourself and also try to get proof from buyer that he did in fact email paypal as well.

I can sure understand your frustration! I had a similar problem, only it was with the seller! I won the bid for 2 or 3 items and she sent me an invoice. I sent her a personal check. Then she sent another invoice, raising the shipping to more than 3 times what it originally was. I told her I had already sent a check, but she refused to accept it as payment. She cashed the check, never sent the merchandise and Ebay did NOTHING!
Then she left me absolutely FILTHY feedback and Ebay did nothing!
I finally quit using Ebay because of it. It was a WRETCHED experience.
So I sure understand how YOU feel! I wish you the best!

No paypal is correct.. you do not ship until it clears. Anyone who is like that ..is probably fraud or ripping you off..They want you to send the item so they then can cancel the echeck WHICH they can do before it clears. You get no money and no product. Simply, go onto ebay's homepage, click on live help and tell them that the buyer is harrasing you to ship and item when their payment hasn't cleared. They will help protect the seller. Good Luck

They may have made a mistake. Try calling them by phone. Sometimes, people get negative feedback when it really isn't their fault. It's a risk one takes by using eBay. There's a lot of tough customers out there!

He may have clicked the wrong thing. Sometimes in ebay when you go to buy, your settings get changed, so he would have needed to check that before clicking the pay button!
If he leaves you neg. feedback, just leave a responce stating what happened, so the other users will know.

Let paypal settle it, he may be trying to get you the goods sent out because he knows the transfer is going to be denied by his bank.
