I'm not sure I understand, but if the question is asked in English, I'd naturally assume they wanted a response in kind. LOL

If you simply mean to imply that only "English" names are ever suggested, I certainly don't believe that to be true. After all, many of the most common names have Greek or Hebrew origins (for example), so to randomly categorize every suggestion as "English" simply isn't correct.

Now if someone specifically states that they're looking for a certain type of name -- Celtic, Biblical, Arabic or simply "classic," for instance -- I only suggest names in that genre. And that's also why I often decline to comment on posts with no more information beyond "what is a good baby name." LOL Do they want boy or girl names? Are they Christian, Jewish or Muslim? Might they have Irish, Italian or Iranian heritage? All of that certainly matters in choosing -- or suggesting -- a name that would be a good fit for that family. After all, it would be odd to suggest "Nevaeh" or Sean to someone asking for Japanese names, just as I wouldn't list Siobhan, Ewan or Aidan -- no matter how popular a choice LOL -- for a 100% Italian child. ;) Because what might be *perfect* for me most certainly wouldn't be for someone else. :)

Because... the question was written in English and... I don't know where you are from but.. most of the people ( not all ) who ask questions and answer questions live in America and... guess what... Americans speak ENGLISH!!!!
If you live in America... learn the language. If an american were to go to any other country, we would be looked down upon because we don't know the language. However... people come from all over the world to America and expect US to know their language and cater to them. I am not saying all immigrants do this but A LOT do.
Even my father who was born in Mexico and learned english as a child has said, "You come from another country and want to live in America. Learn the language and become a citizen.

If you are an American, one would naturally assume that the name will be in English. This is a normal reaction. I like you love when a fresh flavor in how the name is pronounced with a world flair.. And you must remember Flavor and variety is the spice in this life and you know your self that there are some people that just don't or refuse to step out side the box for the flavors and spices in life especially when naming a new born baby. we have our bread meat and potato individuals and then we have those that like to spice it up a little.. Just do your thing.... because it is all good... but like MacDonald's you can have it your way and they can have it their way and it's all good...as long as it's OK with GOD,,, do you thing

Because this IS the english version of Yahoo Answers.

Check out a Yahoo Answers in your own language if you don't like to ask in Engllish.

There is no assumption.....It is ENGLISH
Can you imagine if many languages were here......we would hardly have any questions to answer. There would be lots of misunderstandings.

because your on the english only yahoo answers site. If you need other languages you need to go to a different yahoo answers "country" choice located at the bottom of their homepage.

If you are looking for a specific languagne, country or heritige, you may want to ask that as well so people know what you are looking for.

Most of the users answering questions speak english. If the the asker is asking for a specific language, they should state so. Or ask the question in Spanish, etc if you want that type of answer.
