I'm on Tri-Sprintec. And I'm only on the end of week two and I had light spotting yesterday and its heavier today like I'm starting PMS. I missed yesterday so I took yesterday's and today's pill today. I try to take them at the same time everyday but it rarely/never happens. I have been on birth control for over 2 years and this is the 1st time something like this has happened. I would have called and asked my doctor, but they have the grand pleasure of cancelling life on the weekends.

If you're just going to leave some wise crack answer, please don't waste your time.

But thanks to all that actually tried to help.

I was on birth control for 7 years and I remember starting to bleed once I missed a pill and I also took the missed pill the following day with that days' pill. The bleeding usually stopped by day 3. I don't think it's anything to worry about!

I bled for a month when starting ortho tri cyclen lo. I never missed a pill though. I would give it two months, then call and get rechecked. What has been a lifesaver for me...I have the alarm on my phone set for 400 everday to remind me to take my pill. I havent missed one yet! Good luck.

When you don't take them at the same time everyday (or double up b/c you missed)...spotting can occur. I know it's hard, but try your best to take at the same time. Pick a time that you'll always be home and awake. I take mine every day after brushing my teeth. I set my alarm on the weekends just to get up and take them. To be safe, protect yourself this month if you're having sex.

One of the side effects of pills, is that they may cause irregular spotting or bleeding.
