No completely unhappy!!!
What really irritates me, is the fact that an UNELECTED
prime minister, can decide not to honour the government's
promise of a referendum.
The Labour party didn't even have a contest, to decide who was going to lead the government, he appears to have just elected himself.
The new treaty means that we are going to keep supporting France's inefficient farmers in the manner to which they have become accustomed.
After this fiasco, New Labour should definitely lose the next election, leaving the new government with some stark choices.
In the long term, I believe that the EU as a Federal State, will collapse. Any organisation who's finances are in as bad a mess as their's are, cannot possibly last.
When we get e new government, they should refuse to pay any dues to the EU, untill their accounts have been signed off
and we can see where the money really goes.

Its not just Britain Karen, the Italians, French, Germans and Spanish are going to have their countries turned into regions even though the vast majority of the people in these countries also want a referendum. This is truly a cynical act that pisses on democracy. Have these politicians no shame? This is nothing to do with xenophobia as some claim - it is the people of Europe v the politicians of Europe.
I think it would be great if all the Europeans who want a referendum got together in Lisbon or Brussels in their millions - this would be a newsworthy item..
Ps I think I am now a YorkshireandHumbersideian what are you?
Croedalap - this treaty means that no further treaties are necessary - they can impose changes to things without the need of further treaties so it is the last and most important.

Who is happy in the UK right now? I don't know anyone who is!
The New Labour Government are conceited arrogant bullies who ride rough shod over the indigenous population, the Liberals sit on the fence spouting off what they would do, knowing full well they will never have to, the Conservatives once represented tradition, education for all [free places for kids from poor homes to go to state and private direct grant grammar schools - which Labour stopped] standards of acceptable behaviour because our schools bred teenagers brought up in a disciplined atmosphere - where teachers enjoyed teaching and pupils [except me!] enjoyed learning.
How dare Gordon Brown assume [and we all know what assume did - made an *** of U and ME] that he can exclude the British people from deciding their country's destiny. We've always been in Europe - long before anyone had the bright idea to have a funny farm for failed politicians - in Brussels or some other place called Strasbourg - depending on the weather.
The Conservatives need a decent leader - not a 'cosmetic politics man' - how dare they change the Conservative logo to a Green scribbled tree!! Please - get your act together so we can have a sane government for a few years.
Whatever anyone says about the Conservatives of the past - who had a nasty habit of sleeping around [like the current government] at least they left the Labour party with a healthy set of accounts to start them off. Historical facts record that Labour governments have never achieved that for their successors.
We should just ignore the dictates from the EU thing like the rest of Europe do. Health & Safety in mainland Europe - what's that!!!!!
We can look after ourselves with a professional government who see them selves as bearing responsibility and working for us, NOT being in power and screwing us!

No! I for one am very unhappy about it. It seems that the British public opinion counts for very little in these sad days of dying democracy. I do not relish living in an all controlling superstate.
Gordon Brown is so very determined to do what he wants and he cares little about the best way forward for our people.
He loves power, and once the deal is done he sure will have plenty of that. Him and his equally corrupt partners in crime!

i know what you meen. but your wasting your time. the modern British men are not the men that made Briton great. they would sell the country down the river for want of a pair of balls between their legs. looking at the attitude of most of them on here i would say we are better off going in to the EU. because if any kind of trouble this generation of Britons will need a skirt to run and hide behind.

Yes, if it'll keep the Tories out a bit longer! but which foreign power are you referring to? Blair and Thatcher delivered us up to the USA but I'd rather be ruled from Brussels than by Cameron. Let's keep European style interest rates.
