My family and I are taking a road trip to Arizona in December. I was wondering if anyone knew of some good attractions and scenic beauties in Sedona and/or Phoenix. My grandma will also be going, so hiking is not an option for us. Thank you!

I live about 10 miles from Sedona. When I have people ask me the best things to do in this part I always tell them the two many things are
1 If you like beautiful scenery go to Clarkdale and take the Verde Train Ride. Living in AZ i've been to the Grand Canyon many times. The train ride puts the Grand Canyon to shame.

On the way to Clarkdale stop in Cottonwood. On 10th street off of 89A you can drive to a place at the end of 10th called the Blazing M Ranch. You can get tickets for a real good dinner show.

Both Clarkdale and Cottonwood are on 89A. 89A is the main road in downtown Sedona

Outside of what I've said I'd drive 89A up to Flagstaff. That is one of the most beautiful rides you can take anyplace in AZ. It called "Oak Creek Canyon"

Then maybe a Jeep ride. To me the hot air balloons are a rip off.

hope two thing you are Pro Gun AZ still is a Pro Gun State. Trouble is to many from out of state are moving in wanting to change that. Next you enjoy AZ. But if anti gun have a safe ride home

Tucson is more interesting than Phoenix and it's not far from Noglas, Mexico. There is Tubac, an art community, between Tucson and Nogales. Kartchner Caverns is in Benson, east of Tucson.

I drove from Tucson to the Bryce Thompson Botanical Gardens and it was pretty scenic.

You should try to go to Canyon De Chelly (sometimes spelled Chelly) in Chinle in the four corners. It's pretty cold there now so dress warmly. Vermilion National Monument on the road between the South Rim and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is a beautiful drive.

There is also the Chricahua Mountains,Tombstone, the Grand Canyon, and Sedona.

I did a night viewing at Kitt Peak National Observatory which was pretty interesting. You have to make reservations.
