There is health care available to all legal Americans.

Because the peoplewho rake in tens and hundreds of billions of dollars own the government. Therefore, the government doesn't respond to the will of the citizenry.

Even though most citizens think everyone should have health care (not just emergency health care, which is crazy and expensive, as well as unhealthy and inhumane), the few who profit from the current system control the government.

Drug companies and all the middle men in the "health care system" wouldn't be able to sc*w us out of all our money under a rational and humane system.

For those who answered saying people should get health care themselves, I ask, how? With what?

It takes a LOT of MONEY, which is something fewer and fewer Americans have.

Most bankrupcies are filed because of health care costs.

Uh, and what IS with the tilde?

Although most Americans want to live in a civilized country, that ain't gonna happen until we have genuine democracy.

Because the owners of USA, Inc. don't care about helping the people, either in the USA or anywhere else. Their stooges, the liberal and conservative politicians, care only about maintaining capitalist rule, and the health care companies are BIG capitalists.

The union movement in the USA is weak, and there are no mass socialist parties, so we American workers can't put in more reasonable sets of policies. YET.

I have never heard of a person getting turned down for medical care at the county hospital. We do have free health care

Health care costs money! If you have paid taxes you should get what you've paid for. But since we have no socialized system it is not for the common taxpayer to have to pay for those who haven't paid their share.
