My son will grab himself and say his penis is stinging. Upon examination, the head of his penis will turn blue and kind of shake. When the stinging stops, the color returns to normal. When he was 3 this happened alot, and he would tell me "a bug is biting my peepee" - for lack of ability to describe it otherwise. The doctor examined him and said it was nothing, he must be constipated. What could this be? Could he have blood flow restricted or some kind of blockage?

The stinging is intermittent and only last for a 2-3 minutes at the most. This is not a predictable problem, so there is no real way to take him to the doctor for him to observe the occurance

He is circumcised and the pain is NOT related to urination

To the previous guy: As you can read, he IS circumcised and has nothing to do with being uncirc'ed... and being uncut is not a problem, it's unknowledgeable people who are.

Possibly a bladder infection. He should be evaluated by a doctor, preferably a pediatric urologist. Could also be nerve damage. They should be able to do some tests to find out.

UTI could be a cause.
If he is uncircumcised can be a reason too.
