One of my pet peeves is how the term "UFO" has changed in meaning over the years. It means "unidentified flying object". Period. Re-read those three words. Notice that they say nothing about alien spacecraft.
The term "UFO" used to be an entirely non-controversial technical term used by radar operators who had the job of monitoring air space and logging all the traffic they encountered. They had the task of attempting to classify what they saw and record the results: commercial aircraft, friendly military aircraft, enemy military aircraft, weather balloons, etc. These would all be IFO's -- identified flying objects. If a blip appeared on their screen and vanished before they could identify it, they would simply enter the letters UFO in their log book. The only connotation of that term was that the radar operators hadn't had a chance to identify the object.
Eventually, a folklore arose about these UFO's, and people mused about the possibility that some UFO's might be alien spaceships.
It saddens me that our culture has allowed tabloids like the National Enquirer and Weekly World News to have such an influence on our language that now we use the term UFO the way THEY do! (They had one story in which a space alien refers to his own ship as a UFO! He flew the thing across the universe, but he still can't identify it?????)
anyway.....
Do I believe that aliens exist? I think it is possible that they do, but if so they live on their own planets light years away from us. I think it is highly improbable that they are visiting us, due to the great distances involved. (Not only a great distance for travelling, but also a great distance over which to even notice the planet Earth, let alone ascertain that there is life here.)
I don't believe alien spacecraft have visited our skies. But.....of course I believe in UFO's. ;)

I believe they do. Why, if Earth formed, what makes it so special? Here's life, so it must be somewhere else too.
