RE:
What classical music song was used in cartoons when everyone was waking up?
I think it was mostly Warner Bros cartoons. One I remember was all the birds chirping and bunnies waking up and the main character (bugs?) yawning and stretching. Anyone know the name of that song?

The "spring" section of the overture to William Tell was used frequently in old cartoons, more than "Morning Mood" from Peer Gynt. The William Tell overture music is more "cartoonish", with trilling flutes, etc. Listen to it here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=5D5SDGjRidY
It has a very patoral sound. (Remember, the William Tell overture has four parts, and the famous "Lone Ranger" theme is part 4 ,"Gallop".) Here is "Morning Mood": http://youtube.com/watch?v=PAbwMGZtIsY
Also used quite often, especially in Disney cartoons, was "Poet and Peasant" overture by Von Suppe, parts of which also have a dreamy pastoral sound. Listen at 1:20 http://youtube.com/watch?v=qOa0QUF1y0I

Actually, the middle section of the william tell overture has been used to symbolize "morning". I remember commercials for kellogs corn flakes occasionally used it, I'm sure some cartoons have used it as well.

All of them are correct.
Morning Mood by Grieg and William Tell by Rossini (the calm section in between the "storm" and the "gallop") have been used numerous times in cartoons for their depiction of calm, dreamy serenity, much like a sunrise.

It is from the Peer Gynt Suite.
Part of the William tell overture was used, famously, on TV but as the signature tune to The Lone Ranger.

"Morning" from Peer Gynt is correct - I remember nearly falling out of my chair the day I FINALLY discovered the name of this piece!

My answer isn't classical, but I think of "Zip-a-dee-do-dah, Zipadee-ay" from Walt Disney's "Song of the South"??!!
