Lads????
Since when has footie and rugby been just for males.
I'm a female and a Staunch Liverpool fan (Football) and St Helens fan (Rugby)!
I've supported both through Good and Bad since the 60's!

The vast amount of fans travelling to france, could give an indicationthat our nationaly recognised game of football maybe on the decline, and rugby is at last, taking off to more people,my wife and I are both in our seventies, but have watched the rugby from the start of the competition, we have found it super, and I dont think we saw any rugby player kiss another for scoring,or spit on the turf.

cubalishus: if real men are meatheads that play a sport requiring little skill, then I am quite proud to say I'm not a real man. League is alright, a decent amount of tries are scored and the whole thing isn't dominated by public schoolboys and people who remind me Tory politicians (Andy Gomarsall and David Cameron, hello).
Football is all skill and will always be the nation's favourite. Football is a much more inclusive sport and God how I love inclusiveness.

Football (European for some of you dead hard North Americans who think that [North American] Football is actually "Football"). I sort of support my team. It's more like I support The Netherlands AND Italy and only in the World Cup (because other than that I never watch it) and whoever gets knocked out first I'll support the other so I have a 50/50 loyalty to my teams.

Rugby myself, it isn't a game for the faint-hearted and also you don't see many rugby fans rioting or players swearing at the refs either unlike football.

i think rugby is for proper men and football is for part time men. rugby is for guys who want to win, football is for guys with pretty hair cuts. rugby is for guys who fear and feel no pain, football is for guys who want a month off with a bottle of pain killers.
on the matter of support, well, today i was walking through crowds of football fans, whilst messing around with a rugby ball. Dedication my friend. dedication.
