The Poles eat Carp (karp) at christmas. They prepare it either in jelly, boiled, or stuffed.
They eat Pike (szczupak), eels(wegorz) and a cross between a pike and a perch called zander (sandacz).
I think the most popular is herring in oil (sledzie), though they also eat it in a sort of cream salad or in vinegar.
Smoked mackrel is also popular (wedzona makrela).
Trout (Pstrag) also Popular
