Israel needs to stop playing the victim. Israel terrorizes and bullys its neighbors while crying when said neighbors retalitate. You only have to look at all the Israeli government has done to the Palestinians since being formed as a country. My ideas on Israel being from fact or propaganda depends on if one views history as propaganda. The US needs to stop giving aid to Israel. They need to stand on their own two feet. Forming Israel where it was formed was a mistake.

This isn't simple. There are different types of Jews in Israel. They are as divided as the USA. And Christians consist of around 300 denominations so when someone say they are christian, that doesn't mean everyone is far right fundamentalist/ evangelical christian. That group(the moral majority, focus on the family, pat robertson, rupert murdoch, tom delays think their brand isn't just the best brand, it's the only possible correct brand.
There is Christians for Israel aka zionist christians. Just google. They support not only the state of Israel but Muslims to need to be gone. They raise money to support the illegal settlements on the West bank. You need to google some of this but you wouldn't believe the craziness. Lieberman and DeLay together.
There are others, Christians and Jews alike that want peace. Very different people, the left and right and always religion.
The problem with Christianity as a state religion is which brand, which denomination?

I think providing the land to the Jewish community at the time was based on emotion. Most governments felt guilty after the holocaust in Germany and most felt that this was the right thing to do. Mistake or not, it has happened and only one country has consistently stood by its decision and Israel. For that I am proud. I would like to see the current candidates for the Democratic Party asked "Do you defend the country of Israel, its policies, and its effect in the Middle East?" My guess is that all the candidates would avoid the answer because most of the Jewish community votes as a democrat. The representatives in our Federal Government have always overwhelmingly supported Israel.

Who would admit that their opinion was influenced by propoganda??????????
Israel is a democracy for Israelites... they do not extend these same civil rights to Palestinians in their nation. Until then I don't see them as a true democracy.... At the same time, Israel is an essential ally in that region; it is also a very difficult friendship that costs us annually up to 6% of our national budget to maintain. It is also a friend that has actually spied or used Americans to spy for them for American military secrets.
Like I said, Israel is a essential friend but a very difficult friend.

I wish the first two would get their numbers straight. Israel is said to be doing well,if so why do they need welfare from US. I think there needs to be a real peace in Israel, but it won't happen until both sides treat the each other like fellow human beings.

I think Israel is just great. But, I think they should provide their own economic support and stop taking handouts from the United States. We've given them over 100 billion dollars, and that's enough.

I don't think about Israel any differently than any other country.. however, I do agree with the first poster.. it is time we stopped sending money there.. we need it in our own country.
They can manage on their own.

Personally, I think they are about as screwed up as everybody else. They are a democracy. So, they have their Bushs, Clintons, Reagans, Kennedys, Johnsons, Eisenhowers, etc., etc.

considering the amount of money given to Israel (over $1.6 trillion since 1949) which in itself a terrorist state trying to expand, it boggles my mind.
I can understand the political, and military advantages but at the end they are just using America and getting away with murder.
