good question.
if someone on my real life would be asking me the question like "do you prefer coke or pepsi? "who is the sunshine on your cloudy day" type of questions, then your question is a piece of cake to answer. my point is, in real life, i am not given the chance to say what is my inner thoughts, with almost 23, 600 questions i have answered, i think Y!A knows me more than anybody in this world. if you ask me about the consistency of my answers, i think i answers them truthfully and honestly.my online self is me, not my other self or the person i want to be and not the person everybody wants to see..and who says nobody judge us here?

I am real online as much as I am offline. If there is any part of me that I do not wish to share, I just don't (not because I'm fearful of being judged). I don't generally concern myself with how others view me or how I will be judged for the way I think, look, speak, etc.

I find that is much easier to be my true self online. Rather scary in some aspects of life. Some be may be very judgemental on the net but I feel like it's easier to talk about anything online-even if you get criticism for your way of thinking!

I guess I never would express my opinions so openly to people I didn't know in person. And I ask questions here I would never ask people I know....but all this said, I'm kinda stranded in one of those times in life where I've got no great buds who really "get me" and we're close and hang out all the time...etc. etc. If I did, things would be different.
I love Y/A! !

I think my cyber friends see a toned-down version of the "real me." I usually have a little more wild sense of humor, but I tone it down for the internet. In life, I am usually judged immediately by the way I look, but in cyberspace I really get a chance to be "listened" to so to speak, and it's nice! =)

The part of me that some people don't get to see is let out of it's cage. Great Q. Society does tend to hold people back from revealing ALL of themselves.

I think my true self when I'm not in a bad mood, because I don't get on-line when I have a really bad day and not in a good mood.
Take care

yeah, and you can show sides of yourself and parts of your personality you wouldn't show anywhere else.
maybe because, if you go to a forum for a topic you're interested in, there's likely to be people there that you are more compatible with than those in real life. and that way, you may reveal your true self.

I'm seeing the real me, here, because real life seldom asks the questions I get here. After I answer a few, I could digest them for days--it's like re-discovering myself! Very therapeutic.

Exactly the opposite. They've actually done studies of this. When there's no face to face contact and little chance they'll be caught people feel like they can be whoever they want. People embellish and lie more online.
