or is that just melodramatic exaggeration?

No. Even if it seems as though in one 'moment' the world can change, it was simply a series of events that led up to the change. Cause and effect, basically. For example, when some people on here state that seeing the pregnancy test changed their lives, it didn't. It was part of the process... they had to decide to have sex, concieve the child, take the test... and all the little choices in between. It was the changes leading up to it that was the actual change, not the moment of realization.

Yes, it has changed in a moment. And this has happened more than once.
There was an earthquake in Whittier, CA on Oct. 2, 1987. I realized that everyone I loved was okay. My whole value system changed. I no longer was materialistic. My priorities in life changed completely.

many times, but the most "memorable" is both times that the second line appeared on a pregnancy test. Changed my world in that exact moment, both times for the better.

No melodrama needed? Life is a consecutive moment to moment, therefore changing every moment!
