Most women's perfumes are more floral smelling, but there are some masculine scents that smell feminine to me. Those are the ones I stay away from. In stores the two are always seperated and they usually have a sign indicating which one is for what sex. As already mentioned there are some scents that are unisex.

Chafei, you are quite right there is no difference between mens and women’s perfume. One is a concentrate the other an alcohol diluted version. They are just call by different names to get men to wear them.
Before 1945, a man's general smell was considered manly and any male wearing " cologne" was considered "queer" by other men.
The perfume Companies needed to expand their market so they created the cologne aftershave to allow men to smell nice without it ever dawning on the male mind that they were in fact wearing perfume.
As a kid I remember adverts like Blue Stratus whose image was one surf and sun, sailing the high seas then stepping on shore into the arms of some luscious tart. All too get men to accept the wearing of perfume.
NOTE: Men used Mc Gregory ice stick or similar as under arm deodorant. This had no smell as such and did a good job at keeping under arm BO at bay but it never hid a man's smell. The content of which is still used to suppress the under arm sweat glands in all under arm perfumes.
Up until just after the Vietnam war, women were the biggest purchasers of "Cologne" for men. From about 1978 onward it became socially unacceptable for males not to smell nice.
In the early 90's make-up companies started the drive to get men to wear make up in the form of moisturizers and face creams. Nivea for men for example.
In a few short years men will be back to the 1700's where they will be wearing full-face makeup, depending on if the advertising drive works.
Bye the bye, A lot of women’s perfume smells good on men as their skin PH is different from women.
Try it for yourself and you will see what I mean.
Go smell nice but do not believe that women will fall at your feet.
This has more to do with how you treat the women you choose to associate with. Believe it or not being a real gentleman makes women fall at your feet. No matter how woman’s Lib they are they never fail to react favorably to a gentleman.
Even something small like giving up your seat to a woman is appreciated.
How's this for an answer, that is not influenced by advertising.
Sure this will help.
Regards Xen

Usually, a woman's perfume is more powdery, or has a lot of flower scents. It's sweeter, and has a very delicate looking bottle.
Mens perfumes, on the other hand, are often stronger, spicier. Or even just fresh, notes of mint, or citrus.
Or, you can always check the bottle for "Men's Fragrance" or "Woman's Fragrance". Sometimes, there's even Unisex- for both men and women.
Hope I helped.

Women wear "perfume," men wear "cologne." When you go to purchase this at a department store, they are usually displayed separately.
