Right you are. The saying probably comes from certain situations where the less you know, the better; but reality says that knowlege is power and the more you know, the better prepared you are.

according to paulo cuelho in his book 'Zahir' : "what the eyes don't see the heart doesn't grieve over"
---this makes sense because it's true that some people are the "out of sight, out of mind" thing.... innocence is bliss is also relative to your question..heheh but then there are some things that should be known coz of it's consequential value
...if you're not bothered by it, then it's okay. but if you don't know something then find out people are talking about you and that you're the only one left in the dark...it's better to come face to face with it whether it'll be devastating or not....
...secrets are always meant to be revealed... what you are meant to know, you will always know...

Yes, sometimes truth hurts. But it's better to live in a real world rather than in illusions.

I know that's often been believed but I'm reminded of the words of Robert Louis Stevenson. He said "The cruelest lies are told in silence." So what you don't know can hurt more than knowing the truth.

Well, lots of things we "don't know ' we really do...like if your man is cheating, the politician is corrupt, the Big Mac is unhealthy. Some things are worth facing up too and dealing with the pain can make you stronger. Others...are just not worth getting into.

If a terrorist was sneaking through your window and you didn't know it, it just might hurt you. But then again maybe not. A bomb might not hurt you if you didn't know it was there. But then again maybe not. You have asked 2 questions and the answer can be different for each of them?

It would not be true if you didnt know a safe was falling from 50 feet above your head. Most likely you will be hurt. I would say it would be helpful to know of something like that....

Hayley Westenra sings that.
What you never know I guess can't hurt you for then, but once truth breaks loose it will hurt all the more.
