Charles Shulz, the cartoonist of Peanuts, led a dark and miserable life and was always depressed. Like me, he had an ex name Joyce who used to *itch at me all the time and was portrayed as Lucy. His father told him he'd have a big head for some reason so that was Charlie Brown. It makes sense when you hear people that have the greatest talents are some of the most depressed. Does this story touch you in any way?

I suppose it is a bit sad. But I think the more interesting part of the story is how he was able to channel his feelings into creating a world that genuinely amused and touched millions of others. He did not spend his life feeling sorry for himself or isolating himself from others. Instead, he used his feelings to fuel his creativity. Perhaps his own depression allowed his cartoons to have that bit of edge or pathos that so many people related to - it kept them from being too sweet. Schultz will not be remembered as someone who lead a dark and miserable life. He will be remembered as the creator of a cartoon strip that, for many years, was the most beloved in the world.

What touches me more is that Charles Schulz died on the day the last Peanuts cartoon appeared in newspapers.

The 2 have nothing to do with each other. It is like saying there is a handsome man that is stupid. Handsome does not make you smart. There is a science to being happy. If someone decides to follow that science, he will be happy no matter how dumb or ugly he is. See site below with more about that science with info from top psychologists.
