Hands down, the combined story of 1931's "Frankenstein" and the follow-up, "Bride of Frankenstein" (...which I'm of the opinion, that both films should read a one whole story); the irrefutable talent of the late, great Boris Karloff, gave a profound sense of humanity, to the undeniable inhumanity of the misunderstood, tortured and pitifully inhuman Frankenstein Monster...

Wow, what a question...it's very hard to give just one answer to that. While some will pick his roles of the Frankenstein monster in any of the first three Frankenstein films from Universal, or his role in The Mummy...I like him more in THE BLACK CAT,alongside Lugosi...he is just so evil in this film, and is not in any monster makeup...another great film he is in is The Body Snatcher, I believe it's directed by Val Lewton...
again, a non-monster role, but the dialouge and the way he acts and speaks in this role is just great. You don't need to wear monster makeup in order to be a monster!
