We must make God's Word alive and real, not just "look" at ti and read it but we must live it. I am bad at judging others, so I share with you, and I think as human race we are constantly judging others, so just remember, every time you judge another, God is judging you the same !! You don't know why the shooters at the schools shoot, I was an elem teacher and when you know some of the horrid things that happen to little kids and then they grow up so so angry and shoot others, what is wrong with our world today, not what is wrong with these kids, what is wrong with our world ?? And how well are most of the world really parenting, go into a large retail store, sit down and watch the entire public and see how their children behave and how they treat their kids . If you take you child to the park for quality time, are you talking on your cell phone while you are pushing your child on the swing ? Is that what you want when you want attention is someone talking on the phone instead

There is a lot more here that not judging. I hope I can help you. I have been a Christian for many years just to give you a basis on what I am writing. It is very clear in God's Word about judging others. We are not to do it. We are told that if we judge another then the same measure that we used to judge that person will be the same measure with which we are judged. What a difference it would make in our world if we would remember that. I don't know too many people who would judge themselves as harshly as they judge someone else. Also, we need to remember that there is only one judge and it is not us. Too often people confuse being non judgmental with being complacent and lazy in their walk with the Lord. That is not the case. We can stand up for what is right and let people know it with out being condemning. Then there are those who while taking stands become judgmental and legalistic. In both cases I think we do more to harm the cause for Christ then help further His ministry. One thing I try to remember is to hate the sin, but love the sinner. Jesus taught that in everything He did while on Earth. He did get righteously indignant when He needed to, but He never lost the compassion for the souls He was seeking and He always remember that we are but dust. Maybe we should be the same. If someone is really geetting to you and you have a hard time judging, why not try to get to know them better- sometimes they act or do what they do because of some deep rooted hurt or offense. I have met folks like this and it breaks my heart to say most of them have been hurt by those who claim to follow our Lord. As far as the last part of your question dealing with kids, parents, etc. Remember when Jesus said, "If anyone of you offends a little one it would be better for him to have a millstone tied around his neck and thrown into water." I have often wondered if that is what he was talking about because it seems that when children are offended it just festers and grows and the cycle never ends. If you know of kids that are at risk -reach out to them. Mentor them. Show them another way. Sometimes they are looking for a way out and you never know God might have placed you there to show them. One last thing, I would like to tell you is to look with your heart and not with your eyes. God Bless.

This passage is found in Matthew chapter7 1-5 & refers that you will be judged with the same measure as you judge other ,either fairly or unfairly, its not wrong to judge but be honest in your judgement.
