Yes.
Burma is in turmoil because of the military crackdown on pro-democracy protest.
How's that?
Conversely....assuming you are in the USA, do you (or anyone else on Y!A from USA) know what is happening in the world? No offence intended, but having seen some of the questions - SERIOUS questions asked here by people from the USA, I wondered if you guys know there exist a world outside your country?

It's halfway a cheat but the Brazillian Grand Prix is on today in Brazil (obviously) and there's the rugby World Cup in France. However I only know about them as there's high hopes for British participants, so it's a little bit of a cheat!

Right now? Well, since it's five past three in the afternoon, UK time, it's pretty certain football matches are kicking off all over England.
I'm Scottish, and you can take it from me that England is very definitely another country. History and politics don't make it any different.

Yes, I can. I'm in the UK, but as you asked me, I went on to EarthCam / Times Square (junction with 46th Street) and I can see that the temperature in Manhattan is 61F and the time is 9:41 am. Quite a few people walking along, but not as busy as it sometimes can get. Lots of Yellowcabs going up and down.
Hope this answers your question!

They are still cleaning up the after-math of the earthquake in Peru. My mother has friends that live around that area that are helping out.
