it is claimed to help memory and metabolism, etc. i have been taking it for years and notice a bit of a difference but ginseng is probably your best bet.
go to your local walk mart or pharmacy and look on the back of a "memory" specific OTC product and find the key ingredients. i bet vitamin B is on there along with ginseng. maybe a good combination.

Vitamin B12 is the best energy booster of all the B vitamins and has other health benefits as well but memory improvement is not one of its health benefits.
Fish oil and ginkgo biloba are supposed to be good for your brain and memory.

Yes, it does. I take it every day - I suffered memory loss two years ago and it helps.
HOWEVER, there are different types of B-12 - the form I take is methylcobalamin. If you check the back of the bottle, it should say what form the B-12 is in. Cyanocobalamin, another form of B-12, is not as effective on memory.

there have been a lot of studies lately in regards to alzheimers and memory. they have studied the effect of all kinds of drugs and vitamins in a effort to slow or recover memory loss in alzheimer's patients. the evidence is still be sorting out but it appears that taking a complex b-vitamin can help, as well as increase the energy levels. some of my patients have had great success with drugs like namenda, aricept and b-vitamins.

Vitamin B12 is of potential value in treating the effects of aging and Alzheimer's disease.
"Among healthy people over the age of 75 who have the genotype associated with higher risk for Alzheimer's, low levels of vitamin B12 are associated with significantly worse performance on memory tests. "
This finding is published in the April issue of Neuropsychology, which is published by the American Psychological Association (APA).
