FYI - Once the game "starts" with kick-off I will take a tally of who answered and scores provided. I will then post who the last person is and NOT accept any answers beyond THAT person and advise you ALL of this with an update. Additionally, if two people on the winning team have the same score I will then use the criteria of who came closest with the score on the losing team. If that leads to a tie then I will have to choose the person who chose the score first.

Glad you guys can't thumb me down on this one; however, I am taking Michigan State to win this one - not by a wide margin but by 7 points.

My guess on the final score: Michigan State 31 and Ohio State 24.

Best of luck to all of you here!

Commish - thanks for the terrific read on this game. In the end the "end" of your statement spoke volumes. I for one appreciate the time you took to post this. See you and the others next week.

For those of you that have NOT answered my Auburn @ LSU question go there - this is going to be one tough game or one easy ride; however, no middle of the road on this.

For this question I am about to choose Kyle123...

The hot potato that is the No. 1 ranking in college football lands in the hands of the Ohio State Buckeyes' this weekend. To listen to some of the quotes coming out of Columbus this week, you'd think the Buckeyes were downright terrified of being king of the hill.

The Buckeyes (7-0) have landed at No. 1 after USC and LSU both suffered shocking upsets earlier this month. College football bettors think Ohio State will hold onto the top spot for at least one more week. The Buckeyes are favored by 19 against the point spread as they host the Spartans (5-2), who are coached by former Ohio State defensive coordinator Mark Dantonio.

Although both the Spartans and Buckeyes average more than 35 points a game, it's Ohio State that holds the big advantage on defense. The Buckeyes' are ranked No. 1 in the country in defense, allowing an average of 6.6 points per game and 211.7 yards. They walloped Kent State, 48-3, last week as 30-point favorites.

Against the Spartans, they'll have to contend with a top-flight running back combo that's the best in the Big Ten. Javon Ringer is putting up 178 yards a game and Jehuu Caulcrick continues to rack up the touchdowns.

The Buckeyes counter with RB Chris Wells while Boeckman has settled in as an efficient passer. Bettors who are expecting another top-ranked squad to go down may want to wait one more week, when Ohio State visits Penn State. At home, the Buckeyes may be too tough.
