For those of you that have seen the Poltergeist films, do you think if Julian Beck hadnt died, and filmed the third one.. would it have been spookier? The "kane" in the third is not scary in the least. But I think the scariest part of Poltergeist II was Julian Beck.. especially when he's walking up the driveaway.

Also, do you think its true that the ending of Poltergesit III was changed because Heather O'Rourke passed away?

Ya, he was totally creepy. I never saw the third one, but only little parts. I think the skyscraper was possessed or something? It was totally random and not that good if I remember.

The first one was still the best. It took suburbia which is all warm and fuzzy and turned it upside down. It really was brilliant. I saw in on my mom's 40th birthday the year it came out and I slept with my parents that night. My sister slept with them for 3 nights. I was horrified.

I doubt it.. that one was pretty much dead from the start.. (and I even kind of like it as a movie.. it just doesn't have the same feeling as the others).. Losing so much of the original cast, losing the "home" aspect.. with Heather being sick.. so sick that she almost looks like a different person in some scenes.. (and yes, I know that some of the scenes are not her.. but even the ones that are.. it progressed so rapidly that one shot of her will look almost normal, the next looks really sick.. ) To be honest, I didn't even remember that it wasn't him in 3.. They minimalized his character, which is another reason he wasn't as scary.. Showing him in reflections is not as scary as seeing this creepy man walking outside a house.. the first two feel like they can happen to anyone.. the third seems a bit.. over the top...

Although, to be fair, I did like the family in it... all of them are great actors.. but.. it didn't feel like HER family.

And Yes.. they did change the ending because of her death.. , they used a shot they had already done and for the "end" and filmed extra shots using a stand in.. (mainly alot of mirror shots.. like when you see her running away in the halls.. ) to fill time in the movie.. It's sad..
