yes am glad and grateful to be an American. We have so many freedoms here that other countries don't have. We can have it all if we choose to. I have always felt the reason our country is so great is because of the melting pot we have here. People from all nations mixing and sharing knowledge, thoughts, and culture. We are very fortunate to live in this great culture.
Our country is facing some of the most challenging problems since our conception in the next 20 to 50 years.
I am confident we will find the solutions we need, our country has always stepped up to the line, it is our very nature to do so. We have made some bad decisions, and elected some people who maybe should have not gone into politics, but the people of this country will make the changes they need to get us back on the right road.

I'm -extremely- glad to be an American. Sure this country has its problems, but truth be told, all-around, we have it better here than in any other country on Earth. Sure healthcare's expensive, but if you really need it, you can get it for the most part. Maybe taxes are kind of high, but it's not anything like other countries where over 80% of income is taxed. We may have restrictive copyright laws, but we also have some of the best musicians and film makers in the world. And maybe our economy isn't the best it could be, but we still have a higher GDP than any nation on Earth (www.worldbank.org - look it up).
Most importantly, we have freedom because enough good men and women have given their all, their ultimate sacrifice, so that we could have it. If that's not something to be thankful for, I don't know what is.

I don't know what to say about Americans. On the one hand American's can be incredibly kind, decent and fun people. On the other hand they can also be hippocrites and self absorbed. Of course this happens in every society but the polarity and scale of this is massive in America.
There's lots of good things about America, but there is also lots of bad things which I feel are a result of the government and the powers to be. I heard 80% of american's get all their information about life, politics and the world from TV. I think that's a sad thing because whoever control the TV controls what the majority of American's see and hear. Which can never be good.
I'm glad to be British though, despite the chavs and reality TV, it still has courage to stand up to it's politcians and bad laws. Also, we make kick *** curries

Not really sure 'bout that, because I'm Australian. But if I was American, yea, I would be proud of my country. It's big, well-known, the food taste nice, different people, different cultures, barely gets into war, peaceful, citizin rights, lots of cool celebrities, good movies, freedom and the simpsons is American. Haha. Lol

Yes. There is no question that America has its problems, but there is no other places like it on earth. I have traveled to other countries, and I am always glad to come back home.

Yes, born and raised here and think the lifestyle is great. However, based on travels can readily believe that most non-American citizens feel much the same about their respective countries. --- it's the patriotic part of us all.

I'm an American living in England and yes, I'm very glad. Our systems of freedoms in unparrelleled by any country, and we should pay more attention to protecting our constitution.

Of Course - in a word - Freedom. Just spend a little time in a third world country and you will know the difference.
