All snakes are Reptiles. No reptile has milk as food. The milk is the food of Mammals (Animals giving birth to their young ones---instead of laying eggs). Milk is the first and primary food of young ones of mammals, including man.
Since the snakes are not mammals, they do not drink milk. However, during extreme thirst a snake may be found licking milk for want of water. The tradition of snakes drinking milk is myth and untrue.

No, snakes don't drink milk. Pretty simple. Where would a snake find milk?
Which tradition? The traditional fear of snakes. Yes, that is false. Based on ignorance. If you learn a little about snakes then you'll have no fear. A good dose of respect is needed in regards to all wild things.

Snakes do not Drink milk not only because its costly, not available at snake's natural environment...-: Snakes do not have an enzymes to disolve sugar, At festivals people only pour milk on the piled up mud so called home sweet home of snakes every bit of it is soaked and absorbed by the dry soil in and around!!!!

Actually some snakes will drink milk, although its not part of their natural diet.
A neighbor stopped giving her cat its milk and dinner out by the back door when she found a tiger snake drinking the milk left there! We live on the edge of the suburbs and were surrounded by farm land at the time.

Snakes are cold blooded and carnivorous animals, whereas milk is often consumed by the mammals. Before the 'Nag-Panchami' for many days the snake charmer does not give any water for drinking to his snake. Because of this the snake drinks the milk which is offered on the day of 'Nag-Panchami' to satisfy its hunger and thirst. But if the milk is not digested then the snake dies. Thus by forcing the snakes to drink the milk we are indirectly killing them on the day of 'Nag-Panchami'. If we provide Pepsi or Coca-Cola for drinking, instead of milk, snake will drink it.
