In most cases, both. But normally it's the lyrics that prevail.

Both but its the lyrics that attract me first 99% of the time. And if I like a tune and the lyrics suck then I usually stop liking it.

All depends really. Sometimes i hear a song because the tune sounds good and other times, when a song has been aired a few times and you can't stand the tune, you realise that the words are good and you find you get used to the tune.

I never listen to lyrics! Most of the music i listen to is dubstep or d/b which doesn't have lyrics anyway!

I love to listen to the lyrics, but if a song has a catchy tune that will also get my attention.
So, I guess I do BOTH ... :D

It has got to be a mixture of both. I like a lot of uplifting house and trance which both have very little lyrics but make me tingle - a lot like some people feel with classical music I guess.
But there are many songs that wouldn't be what they are if it wasn't for the lyrics in them. There are many songs I like, outwith my usual genres, just for the words.

I actually have a hard time understanding the lyric of most songs, but i can hear the tonal structure.

A music needs to have a good melody, yet i think of the lyrics are additionally rather substantial. For me to relatively like a music, there must be an component of large song and profound lyrics :)
