If it is someone I know then obviously. I used to smoke, but I was always very considerate when I did. I didn't smoke just outside of buildings so everybody had to walk through my cloud of smoke, nor did I smoke at bus stops or anywhere really in public. I smoked in the privacy of my own home (and I live alone before you jump onto that one).

You would be surprised how many smokers do actually care about other peoples health

Edit: Non smokers get lung cancer too and it is not always caused by passive smoking

Why did smokers murder Roy Castle? Did smokers bind and gag him and take him to nightclubs to perform his act ( no, money did ) Where is the evidence that smoking killed anyone, certainly not on any death certificate.

Yes, I do care because I wish harm on no one. It is not always the persons fault for example my gran died of smoking, but when she started neither her or any one else knew of the danger and by the time that the danger was known she was to addicted to stop. Some people pocess no excuse ie. they smoke to make them look cool, but others can be forced into it via pier pressure. Because of that the majority of people have an excuse, its the ones who don't to look out for. Some smokers do care like, my Grandad gave up smoking when he was told that through second hand smoke he could be harming people and my gran wouldn't smoke if she had visitors nearby so in short, yes I do care.

I do care my father died from cancer another member of my family aged 18 was given 6 to 9 months to live with lung cancer they didn't smoke or come from a smoking house and was told that if older and a smoker they would be a statistic for smoking related cancer, they are still with us thank God. I am not a selfish person and couldn't find it in my heart to not care, you may eat your words one day, I hope not just remember Karma.

First of all, who said you had to go breathe in their smoke??

Did you know that these "selfish smokers" are contributing a HUGE portion of tax revenue to the government and if they didn't buy tobbacco the tax burden would be put on everyone?

What about car emmissions? You think that is healthy? You think that the A/C in your car doesn't suck up those nasty emissions and jet it out in your face while you drive? I guess anyone that drives is selfish because they don't care about you.

Is it all about you anyway?

That's an over simplistic viewpoint. Many of the smokers are addicted and cannot easily kick the habit.

I smoke, and i have never smoked where it is not appropriate. I even ask visitors in my own home if they mind if i smoke, do not assume all smokers are selfish, just as i don't assume all teenage boys in cars are joy riders or drug dealers. I understand some people have a problem with people smoking around them but you're post is just idiotic and ignorant.

Yes - most smokers start smoking when they're young and foolish. We all make mistakes - unfortunately smoking is addictive. But it looks good - cool - trendy whatever you want to call it. And to some people that means a lot.
Doesn't mean they are selfish.
