It is very important, but so is time together too. The trick is to figure out a balance between the two.

Not married but have a partner, time alone is important, I think everyone needs that..some down time to yourself..we get enough though without trying due to his work requirements..think it makes the time we do have together more important...

Essential!!
Doesn't seem like it at first - when you want to spend every living/breathing moment with him/her - but once reality sets in it's important to have time to reflect and stay connect to yourself; stay in touch with your own hobbies even if they are different than your spouse's; If you live your life completely wrapped up in your spouse you'd be lost if something happened that you HAD to be away for any length of time - like business trips, hospital stays, etc.

It is very important. It doesn't have to be for long periods of time but you need some time.
My husband is a coach for my son's baseball team so he goes to the club house every couple of nights and I just sit home and relax.

We've been happily married for over 37 yrs., and although we spend the majority of our free time together, we still allow each other some private time. A person can use it or not as they wish, but we make a point of allowing for it.

VERY important. I go to bike week every year and the old lady stays home. As a matter of fact she is in Florida right now and is coming home tomorrow.

Very important! I go every year, for one or two days, with my girlfriends to a Spa or a nice beach alone, without my kids and hubby. It is very relaxing and when I come back to my "reality" (my hubby and kids) I am fully re-charged and ready to do what I know best.

Extremely important. We always take the time to do our own things -- it just makes our relationship even better.

Very important, he does not like shopping, so I go with my daughters and sisters out shopping.
I am not that interested in hunting, so he goes with his son and friends.
We love classic cars, so we go together to show his 69 Mustang Fastback and i join him. We both have likes and dislikes.
