I am an American who lives in Europe and travels extensively within the continent. Europeans do not dislike America; they love it! They dislike President Bush and his policies. There is a big difference!

I am an American living in Prague, so I know the European mindset.

I'd estimate about 90% of Europeans have an unfavorable opinion of Bush. With every person I speak to, that number diminishes. A lot of their opinions are based on falsehoods perpetrated by the Liberal press.

What is most shocking, is the underlying attitude that the U.S. should not act unilaterally. I don't recall when the U.S. relinquished its sovereignty to the world, but Europeans seem to think the U.S. should consult with them before making any big decisions.

What's also ironic is how even former enemies of the USSR will side with them over the U.S. Case in point: the radar system the U.S. wants to install here in the Czech Republic. I don't know why anything that protects them against Soviet agression could be considered bad, but that is the general attitude. They somehow think it is "provocative"

Europeans don't dislike America, just our current administration. However, the opinion of Americans is deteriorating. It is commonly believed that the typical American is a fat, lazy, uncultured, monolingual cretin. About the only wholly positive thing that saves us is the universal belief that Americans are personally the kindest, and most generous people in the world.

This reputation is strengthened every year as European students study in America, and find that the people they meet will bend over backwards to help them.

I certainly have met lot,s of individuals from all distinctive international places and for the main section they're particularly ordinary to get alongside with. although there are 3 common kinds like the movie, the best ,the undesirable, the gruesome. I dont advise their visual charm yet their temperment ,they could be gruesome yet they have a ideal way and a few ideal human beings ought to be smug and caught up so rather they're the gruesome ones. so which you have 3 kinds ,the effective form, those which would be nasty yet do no longer comprehend it and each now and then apologise, then there is the particularly nasty loud mouthed insulting snobbish bore. I certainly have chanced on it would not could desire to be one nationality especially who's nasty it ought to be anybody. I certainly have some American friends who're great additionally some Poles who I fantastically like and a couple of French human beings end Spanish Portugese Brazilian and a few different Nationalities all belong to our Social biking team. all of us get alongside effective no arguments. No that's no longer a criminal offense to state you dont like human beings yet you would be asked why by potential of individuals fantastically human beings who would be dissatisfied. although I dont like the american government, too astonishing wing yet it is yet another tale.

Have we become the" I just want to be liked society" and if they liked us they wouldn't say bad things about us. They use that same old line we like you but we don't like your president. I have heard the same old b.s. over the past 20 yrs. with each administration and I know some of you won't be able to accept it but they said the same thing when Clinton was in office. They didn't like us before, they don't like us now and that is not going to change

The way Americans say "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less". If you couldn't care less, that means you already care the least amount possible. Which is what you're trying to say. That's my only pet peeve. Apart from that, you're all great. ;)

My niece lives in Paris, she says almost all people she talks to think bush and cheney are the worst thing that ever happened to America, and it took a long time for us to figure it out that they are the thugs.
