What?? No way! It's OK to expect the best out of yourself, but setting standards for other people . . . futile exercise, for starters. Sign of a narrow mind, for middles. Ultimately, will result in much unhappiness.
It's not good to be totally trusting, but being aloof and snobbish will not help you, and is likely to make you a target for people who are on "snoot-in-the-air" alert.

Good question. I think that snobbishness IS essential and the people who are snob free may just be misfits. The reasoning behind my opinion is that somebody who does not have a little snob in them is only lying to themselves and that makes them extremely plastic to me. plastic people suck. everything they do is so people will look at them in a favorable light. But no matter what when when they get home they are snoobish.

In small quantities; snobbery is pride, it's good to be a bit uppity about things. Keeps you in check and makes you have goals in life.

Perhaps in a very, very small amount. However in large quanities, is just unacceptable in this day in time.
