What were ladies using before modern pad were introdused or developed, and when, where,by whome.

Some of them used rags (a product similar today si called Glad Rags). And because of how much of it they had to use there wasn't a whole lot that they could do til the period was over. (This was in much earlier in human history)

Then nurses started coming up with a form of pads made from cotton around world war II.
