My house is in a highly humid city. Also there are no external cracks on the floor despite the "pop" sounds. What could be the reason for this and how can it be fixed as it disturbs our sleep in the night.

Sounds like the floor is just drying out, if you give it time it will probably stop on it`s own.

the popping sound is caused by the polyurethane cracking loos it grabs on the sides of the boards and when you step on them it brakes loos. it should lessen over time also as the floor contracts do to less moisture or heat the boards will break loos from each other I have seen boards split in half from this

Contact the people that put the floor in. They didn't do it right. They didn't leave enough room for expansion and it's expanding and contracting with the heat and moisture, it shouldn't do this. They should have left enough room to allow for this.
I would definitely have them come back and look at it.

The hot air makes it expand, whilst cool air makes it de compress. This is why the railway has gaps, to let it exspand, and despand.
